TUESDAY TUNES: A catchy single from R&B duo Quadron has been playing on loop in the Koolaburra offices this week.
Coco O., whose sparse vocals have been compared to the likes of Amy Winehouse, chalks up her sparse style to her European upbringing. “And I think that’s a Danish thing,” she says, “to just have what is necessary.”
Quadron’s new album (“Avalanche”) was released in June 2013; she also appears in the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s remake of The Great Gatsby.
TUESDAY TUNES: We’re listening to “True” — the album released in 2012 by Solange Knowles (that’s little sister to Beyonce). The 7-song EP “feeds on humble but compulsively listenable tunes that reference the silken grooves of late-80s pop” — and we can’t help but bob our heads to “Losing You” while watching Solange show off her chic wardrobe.
